It can be related to technology, weight loss, sports site, or it can be website regarding certain products like based on only one car. You have to select your niche, then get your domain based on that niche, then you make your website. The main thing is promotion and add placement. Where you place your ads and how you promote your site is very important. I have seen people earning $10/day and that is not bad at all. I also have seen people earning none. I myself am earning $1/day and that i feel is good considering the amount of promotion i do. I am now trying to scale it up to $5/day.
You need to take care of certain things like the content should be unique and not copied from other sites.
